We love hearing stories from our customers. This is especially true when we can write up a post about it.
It was time for an upgrade at Zhong’s residence. With 2 new recent members to the family, additional living space became a necessity. Zhong’s family wanted a complete overhaul of their home so they converted their 2-bedroom apartment and basement into a 3-bedroom duplex with large open spaces for work and play.
They wanted the new space to be bright and open with an industrial feel. White and black was used for the overall interior. The coated cement floor at the lower level definitely feels industrial and it also makes cleaning after the kids easy. The new sliding glass door filling up the entire backside lets the family out to the back yard for outdoor activities like bbqs and pool parties while flooding the interior space with lots of sunshine which wasn’t available before.
Keeping with the industrial design, they hung 3 of our Classic enamel shade pendants in grayish blue with custom swag hooks over their dining area. The shape of the Classic enamel shades appeared very prominent but blends in very well with the space with its simple profile and gray tone.
On the upper level, a new bathroom was put in the common area. The 2 original bedrooms stayed in their original location with upgraded closets for the 2 kids. The previous living room, bathroom and kitchen was converted into the master suite. The master suite bathroom is spacious and full of light from the large window facing the backyard. The white subway tiles in the bathroom made the space feel extra bright and open. To complement the space, they used a set of our simple ceramic wall sconces in white.
The total renovation project took over a year to complete which is a very long time but seeing their new home makes it all worthwhile knowing that it had come a long way from how it was before. All they have to do now is find time to stay home and enjoy the wonderful new space they have created!
